Wedding Day – Indian Wedding, Mombasa, Kenya

Wedding in Mombasa, Kenya

I thought this would be my last post about the 4 day event in Mombasa, Kenya but it will be the second last. However, this is the main post in my opinion. This is from the actual wedding day. It started off by a celebration in the morning (this will be displayed in another post) and then another celebration for the groom – it was great to be part of it. They were all dancing and singing! The groom’s family brought the groom to a meeting point with the parents of the bride. Then there was a small ceremony and ended with a little game – the game was for the mum to pinch the nose of the groom. To show she is still in control đŸ™‚ See photos below to see what happened.

The ceremony itself was postponed because of the weather – when the sun came out the ceremony started on the beach. The ceremony finished as the sun went down. Perfect timing in other words.

The wedding took place at Leisure Lodge Resort which was a great place.  Some quick facts about Leisure Lodge Beach & Golf Resort:

1.  Leisure Lodge was launched in 1972, by Dr Wilhelm Meister the Founder.
2.  Staff and management celebrated the Resort’s ruby anniversary (40 years) in 2012.
3. The Resort’s total acreage is 1,080 acres sub divided as follows:

  • Hotel is on 38 acres
  • Golf club is on 292 acres and is an 18-course championship style golf course
  • Total hotel rooms is 253

4.The resort sits along the coveted Diani beach, which was voted ‘3rd best beach in Africa by CNN Traveller. See: http://travel.cnn.com/africas-best-beaches-248793

5.Leisure Lodge is the only hotel in Mombasa with an all purpose built-in conference centre

After that there was a small break and the evening celebrations started. Nisha and Ankeet both had a special entrance for the final party (again, see photos :)).

Anyway, here it goes ….
