Wedding at Villa Mangiacane in Tuscany
Villa Mangiacane Wedding
Lauren and Giovanni got married at Villa Mangiacane in Tuscany. Not quite sure where to start to describe this wedding. It was a 2-day celebration. Before the first day of celebration I took the couple outside the estate and had a photo session for an hour and half. We timed it for the sunset and managed to get some great photos (it will be published in a separate post). After that they had dinner with their 70 friends and family who mostly came from the united states. They started the dinner by going around and introducing themselves and how they knew the couple – I think that was a brilliant idea as the most common question was already answered and people got to know each other in a way. After dinner they had home made gelato from Rome along with some musicians. An easy but lovely night.
The wedding day was faboulous. They got ready in separate rooms but in the same estate. The place was amazing – the rooms were very very cool. It was funny to watch Gio and his dad getting ready because dad was upstairs and Gio was downstairs in their 2 floor flat and without knowing it they got dressed in an identical matter at the same time! The groom gave mum a gift before the day started and you could see they are very close – lots of tears and laughter.
The bride got ready in her room together with all her friends and mum. Lots of action in that room. The bride used to work in the fashion world and based on her dress and style you could easily see that. Check out the dress and also the flower head piece she had – wicked!
The ceremony itself took place outdoors with a view of florence in the background.
As the sun settled we grabbed some family photos and some portraits – some great photos I believe. Then the dinner was on a massive balcony which was beautifully decorated! After the cake was server some fireworks took place – love that! After that party and drinks.
The wedding was planned by Italia Celebration. This is the 2nd time we worked together and Brenda with her team did an amazing job! If you plan to get married in Italy then contact them. You will not regret it!
A bit about the villa – Villa Mangiacane is a magnificent 15th century villa built by the Machiavelli family, bearing the unmistakable hand of the Renaissance master, Michelangelo. The private estate produces three award winning wines and is a perfect backdrop for a Tuscan wedding. Hopefully the photos will show this – enjoy!
