A Wedding Postponed by Covid-19 Returns to Normalcy

This intimate wedding ceremony took place at the picturesque Villa Honegg and the historic Burgenstock Chapel. Like many others, the couple had to postpone their wedding due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Yet here we are, finally celebrating their union in what feels like a return to normality.

The Wedding Day

The celebration involved just the groom, bride, and the mother of the bride, creating a deeply personal and intimate atmosphere. The day began at Villa Honegg, where I captured the bride and her mother during the final stages of the wedding preparations. The sense of anticipation and joy in those moments was palpable.

From there, we journeyed to the Burgenstock Chapel, where the groom awaited. The chapel itself holds a fascinating snippet of history: as the bride entered, a gentleman rang the bell. This same gentleman served as the flower boy for the renowned wedding of Audrey Hepburn, which took place at the very same location in 1954.

The Ceremony and Aftermath

Post-ceremony, the weather took a dramatic turn. Dark clouds gathered, and we hastened to capture portrait photos before the heavens opened and rain began to pour—a seemingly auspicious blessing for the newlyweds.

After our quick photo session at Burgenstock Resort, we retreated to Villa Honegg for a cozy apero shared among the bride, groom, and mother of the bride.
