Wedding day at schloss Ettiswil
Schloss Ettiswil was the place where Manuela and Andy got married in September 2013. However, it started off by they getting prepared in the Hotel Sonne in Eich. They did it different from most wedding couples I have met – they actually helped each other to get ready. Andy even had to use a needle and thread at one point (handy man). The only thing that they were slightly worried about was the weather since their ceremony was going to be outdoors (I love outdoor ceremonies!) – so when I arrived it was warm(ish) and a mix of clouds and blue sky and it could have gone either way. The weather God was with them that day and it didn’t rain at all. After the wedding preparation we walked around at the garden of Hotel Sonne and took some wedding portraits. Then we jumped into our cars and drove to schloss Ettiswil.
The castle was around 20 minutes from the hotel and we arrived around 1 hour before the actual ceremony. This gave us a chance to walk around in the area. We found this tiny church next to a big tree. This is the picture above. Manuela and Andy were super easy to work with – Manuela was not afraid to walk around in grass where it was slightly muddy (keep in mind that this was before the ceremony so not many brides would do this).
The wedding ceremony was original – the fact that it was outdoors I already mentioned but on top of that the bride arrived to the ceremony in a singing fashion! Everyone was standing up, waiting for the bride and looking towards the stairs that came down from the castle to the ceremony area. Out comes the bride with a microphone in her hand and she was singing to her husband! She was singing all the way down the stairs, down the isle and finished when she was standing right in front of him. I could see that Andy was very moved by this. What a start! The ceremony was held by their friend who had never done it before – Manuela said it was very personal and she loved it.
Here are some photos from their wedding day ….
