Here is the 2nd, and final, post of my personal project for this year.
Every year I am trying to do a personal project – something that is new for me and also pushes me a bit. Last year I did a photoshoot with the theme Marie Antoinette – which you can see: here. This year I decided to do a fashion shoot. As a wedding photographer I work a lot with available light, small flashes and video light. This time I wanted to work with real studio light on location. I have never used any type of studio light before so it was a real challenge! I created a behind-the-scene video which I will share later on.
Anyway, just like last year, this idea just ‘happened’. What happened was that I was walking down a narrow street, a car came driving towards me so I had to make space for it, I squeezed up against a shopping window and there I saw an amazing dress. An Yves Saint Laurent dress from 1960. The shop was closed so I wrote down the contact details of the shop. I contacted the owner which was Mariagrazia. She said I should come to the shop to talk about a possible collaboration. It turned out she owned another shop next doors and she had 500 vintage dresses that she was selling. If you are in the market for vintage jewellery or dresses then check out her website at: http://www.lopez.como.it/. After meeting her I knew I had dresses and jewellery. Next point was to find a hair stylist and make up artist – I put a up a casting call on modelmayhem. I got in touch with Michele – so lucky because he did hair and make up. And not only that, he did an amazing job! Finally, I had to find 2 models because I wanted to shoot at least 4 different outfits (turned out to be 6 outfits in the end!).
The model was Aranzazu from urbanmanagement. Aranzazu just arrived to Milano from Spain. She was very professional and easy to work with. I am very pleased with how the photos turned out.
Now, here are the photos of Aranzazu Estevez Godoy ….
