Zermatt Wedding with Frangiska & Daniel
Frangiska & Daniel had a zermatt wedding on August 27th, 2011. They are a couple which is a dream to shoot – they are emotional and they are not afraid to show it in front of others. In the church they exchanged looks all the time which was great. During the portrait session I had to give very little direction as they just had fun and enjoyed the moment they had together.
On the day we were extremely lucky with the weather because the week before it had been raining and even snowing. However, on the wedding day itself it was great. Even the mountain Matterhorn came out and showed itself in its best light. Apparently, many people go to Zermatt and don’t even see it.
It was great to see the mix of nationalities at the wedding. Daniel is from Switzerland whilst Frangiska has a Australian and Greek background. However, there were guests from all over the world. My favourite part was when Frangiska’s dad got everyone to dance some greek dance in front of the hotel.
When I shoot family photos I like the people to stand really close but usually people tend to be a bit tentative – not in this family. They snuggled together and had a big smile. Really fun to see!
This wedding was a 7 hour wedding and I believe this is a good example when preparation is a great part to have covered – got lots of nice individual portraits, details of accessories, the anticipation before the church ceremony and the couple had time to get comfortable in front of the camera.
