This couple got married in Bern 1st of October, 2011. I met the couple in Luzern one sunny day (which is not very common) and we had a coffee together. We talked about their wedding day and I could straight away see how excited they both were about their wedding. Later on the same day Laura sent me photos of the church, her dress and other details. As a photographer – this is a dream! A couple which is truly excited about their own wedding. They also wanted a lot of my input so it was great to work together – for people who are planning their own wedding. The tips I gave can be read: here. There were two more tips I gave them which is not on the page yet and they were: two hours of preparation is a good time to cover both bride and groom (if they are at the same place) and having nice lighting in the evening really makes a big difference (see the dancing photos and you see what I mean).
The wedding day started off at Hotel Schweizerhof Bern. This hotel opened quite recently and they have done a great job. The hotel has very classy taste and it still has a cosy feeling to it. Anyway, the preparation was really fun and easy going. The groom and his friends had music pumping and champagne was flowing from the first moment. The girls were not far behind the boys either. After the preparation I had chance to take some individual portrait shots. After this, we all went to Church which was right next to the Rathaus. The ceremony took place under the church so the mood was really romantic (but also very dark from a photographers point of view). After the ceremony we all went outside, took some group and formal pictures and then we had 20-30 minutes for portraits. As you can see from the photos – we had a great day, the couple look like two models and they were not afraid of the camera. It was not very hard to get some good photos of these guys. When the portrait session was over we went back to Schweizerhof Hotel for the rest of the evening with entertainment by Helen Pfaff and her band. It was a great wedding and this is why I have so many photos in this post.
Hope you enjoy it…..
