Wedding Portrait in Milos

Let me tell you about this  wonderful wedding in Milos, Greek islands. Before I go onto the wedding day I wanted to write a line about the island itself as it is so fantastic. Milos is one of the undiscovered gems of the Aegean. It features everything that travelers come to Greece looking for: spectacular sunsets, beautiful beaches, a rich history, white-washed Cycladic villages, delicious food and hospitable folks. A volcanic island, Milos is known as the island of colors, mainly because of its amazing, colorful rock formations. It is also known as “The Island of Lovers” because it is the discovery site of the famous statue Venus de Milo, the ancient Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty.

Now back to the wedding day. I love my job. I was fortunate to cover this lovely two day wedding. First day was a sail excursion with two amazing boats. It involved sailing, diving, eating and chilling.

The second day started at Santa Maria Village. A lovely hotel with a nice view of Adamantas. The lads were chilling in the pool and having drinks whilst the ladies were sipping champagne and got ready in the flat. The bride and groom had a big entourage which made it extra fun during the wedding preparation. You will see in the photos what I mean. The wedding ceremony took place at Sarakiniko which is known for its rock formation. Looks like moonscape. It is situated on the north shore of the island and waves driven by north winds shape the greyish-white volcanic rock into amazing shapes. The downside of that location is that it can get extremely hot as white rocks reflects the sun. But it was well planned and we did this as the sun was setting. A dream for a wedding photographer. When you see the wedding ceremony and portrait photos you will see the super beautiful location. After this we all drove to Milos Event Venue. It is situated by the water side so you get an amazing view of the ocean and sunset. I really liked the vibe of the wedding as it never felt there was time to sit (or get tired). Instead, they had a buffet of Greek food and then they hit the dance floor pretty early and stayed there for the remaining part of the night.  It was an absolute joy to cover this wedding which was so energetic and fun! Enjoy the wedding photos….
