Josiane and Michael decided to get married at the lovely Villa la Casinella at Lake Como in Italy. These guys are truly international: they met in London but are from Holland and Switzerland, and decided to tie the knot in Italy – whilst their wedding planner Becky (beckymathews.com) was based in New York. After the wedding I also learnt things are not boring with these guys.
For this wedding I had a second shooter (the talented Marian Bader) with me. We could only access Villa la Casinella by boat, so that’s how we arrived. It was a magnificent setting. The villa itself is very beautiful – it has that special ‘something’. The day started off by Josiane and Michael getting ready in separate places, and then the guests arrived by boat. Josiane was SO excited when people arrived – it was great to see! Then the ceremony took place just outside the villa with a view of the mountains, followed by the apero and the dinner. A funny ‘incident’ happened during the dinner; the weather was perfect the entire day and out of nowhere it started to rain heavily. We looked up at the sky and only saw blue skies, but directly over the house there was a dark cloud that made the rain. Personally, I think this was the best thing that could have happened because everyone looked for protection from the rain, and whilst they waited, they were served vodka shots from the staff. This ignited the party mood much earlier and people had a great time. Some even suggested to skip dinner and go straight to the party. It was fantastic! Another remarkable moment was the best man speech – I have heard many, but this one was one of the best. He was really funny and he captivated the entire audience. Anyway, here are the wedding photos from the lovely Villa La Casinella.
