Bride Portrait Session in Luzern

This weekend I had the opportunity to have a 2 hour photo session with Jana. What was really nice was that she got married a few months ago and now she got to use her dress a second time and there were no time pressure! I thought this setup was great as it was more relaxed. As you can see from the photos below – Jana looks stunning and it was very easy to shoot her. I tried to go for a bit different style than “classic” shots – personally I think it turned out really well. What do you think?

Good use of your f 2.8
Excellent composition, use of light, and choise of background.

Respect for trying something different Dude,... but these do not float my boat. Sorry I come from a classic wedding photo background, having done so many before digital photography. It's difficult to try something extreme like this.
    Call me old fashioned.

Also the model looks attractive but this is apparantly the happiest day of her life. Were these photos shot a second time at her request to promote herself in the dress, or how happy she should have been on her wedding day, or she wasn't happy with the original wedding photos? Only a couple of these would work for fashion catalogue, but then only the ones without other people in the background.

The first/top photo is the only one that has real value with the barn doors.

I'm not accustomed to taking a chick around the city in a wedding dress, but if I did I want to make sure she was having a good time. :-) This doesn't look like she was enjoying it.

The rest are a little like; "What is this crazy chick doing walking around the city in a wedding dress?", (hence the little girls expression)... "She's looking for husband and shotgun wedding or what?". Location, Location, Location.

Seriously; This is 'apparently' the happiest day of your life and she can't manage a smile?
Perhaps a few months of marriage is already starting to show,... sorry, call me cynical too !

Choice of background Mario? Are you sure? in all photos?

You know I like you work Magnus, therefore I suspect you had either location issues or it was what she requested.
    You're a brave man !

    Best of luck Dude

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

@Ron: The expressions and locations were down to me - I tried to go for a more fashion look. I do have pics when she smile but chose not to share those as I liked these more. I think the location is really cool (maybe as I am not a traditional wedding photographer). I guess we can agree we have different taste :)

  • I really like the shot with the red and stripe background. Nice posing too.

    Agreed :-)

I look forward to seeing some more stuff.
