I was born in Sweden but both my parents are Polish and now I live in Switzerland. This has lead me to speak Swedish, English, Polish and basic German. What really made me a citizen of the world was a certain international school in Norway called Red Cross Nordic United World College. We were 200 students from 80 different countries and we lived in the middle of nowhere. This allowed us to get to know each other and hear each others stories. I shared a room with 4 different guys and we all represented one continent of the world – that is pretty cool! After the school it became natural to work and visit friends all over the world. These are the countries I have managed to visit so far…
What I value most in my life is my family – my wife is Spanish and we have two lovely kids. Leon who was born in 2012 and Mia in 2014. What I find the hardest part of being a wedding photographer is to be away from them over weekends. This is why it is not uncommon for them to come along when I travel abroad or to wedding further away.
I have been photographing weddings since 2010 and as the year pass by my drive for photography has grown stronger and stronger – it is hard to say where the love comes from but it is jst there. I love when a photo tells a story or create an emotion. It freezes a moment with the potential of being told and evoked in many years from today. My aim is for the wedding couple is to look at the photos and re-live their day.
When I am not working or spending time with my family then I LOVE good food (whenever I go to a new place I check tripadvisor for the best place to go & it also helps when your wife is amazing in the kitchen), play football even though a dodgy knee is soon catching up with me, follow Arsenal FC (I used to work at the football stadium when I lived in England), watch Tv-series (Friends, Dexter, Game of Thrones, Sopranos) and 10 days a year I love to spend on the beach doing nothing (even though that is hard with 2 kids).
In the beginning of year 2011 I was informed that my photo won an award for being among the world’s 50 best wedding photos of year 2010 by Junebug – it was a huge honor! This then repeated itself this year! So I have now won 2 years in a row! I am also listed on their “world’s best wedding photographers.
